its great to be back

Hello, Aloha and thank you for welcoming me into this space!  I’m thrilled to be back after a 10 year break!  Can’t believe it.  So trite, but so true.  “Time flies when you’re having fun.”  Back in 2010, I began writing a little blog about our “dream home”. We had 3 young children and felt like we were going to sink our roots deep into our new home and our new neighborhood.  Blogging, crafting, diying, brought me so much joy in those years.  I didn’t have the extra time, but somehow managed to find it.  I loved sharing about our first time homeschooling, gardening and creating family memories.  In 2012, we welcomed our 4th child and although I loved it, found that I really didn’t have the time to keep up with it.

Fast forward.   We’ve since moved 3 times and my definition of “dream home” has changed with each move.  My family and I consider ourselves Northwesterners at heart, growing up my whole life in Seattle, Washington.  But God shook us up 5 years ago and we started our Hawaii chapter.   We moved to Oahu in 2015, where we have added 2 more babies into our family and renovated our first home together.

We are in the thick of it… as they say.. “These are the Days.”   What keeps me sane is creating a home that is a sanctuary.  Spaces that allow us to recharge, refresh, and reflect.  Spaces that inspire memory making.  Our home is far from neat and tidy, but I pursue it and the moments and nooks and crannies that are, give me life.

My Why?  Our world is changing.  I don’t do many things well.  But I do feel like I’ve been given a voice and consistent message to share.  Our homes matter.  Our spaces matter.  Now, more than ever.

Come along as I share about décor, design, home making, parenting, fashion, gardening and my random favorite things.  Live Loud.  Live Well.

So glad you’re back, Cathy! We’ve added four little ones since I last followed you in this a decade ago, and I’m even MORE eager for your ideas and inspiration now. I was at a loss back then and am even more now so I’m excited to learn from you. May God give you great joy in this pursuit and allow your work to bless many!
