Warning… this is a long, wandering post… but a lovely one I think. 🙂
It has been sweet watching this little blog slowly grow these past couple of months. I have such a peace about what I am doing and where it’s going. It’s a peace that has nothing to do with concrete stats or analytics. When I look around, i could easily think, “What am I doing here?” I’m a baby fish in a very, very, big pond. I’m not the most eloquent, wise, talented, or creative. But I know there is still room for me. There’s a space for my vision and my message and there’s a space for you too.

This blog post is a perfect example. I planned to write about fall fashion all week. Shot the photos, sat down to write about fashion and then somehow was led down this wandering path to write about so much more… dwelling and thriving in each season. I believe someone needs to hear this. Coincidentally, Ruth Chou Simons of Gracelaced also just wrote a beautiful Facebook post this week about dwelling and being faithful in each season. She says,
“The very best way to be prepared for what God may call you to in the future, is to be faithful right now with where He has you today, even if the circumstances don’t feel ideal.” – Ruth Chou Simons
There is more. There’s always more. Trust Him. Lean In. Wait expectantly for the next season.

Haha… now how do we segway into fall fashion? Well.. there’s definitely something special in the air. Do you feel it? I never used to like Fall. Growing up in Seattle, I loved the long summer days of the Pacific Northwest. Fall meant dark and cold and everyone squirreled in their homes all winter. But now, I love the change of seasons. It doesn’t matter which one. The change of seasons is a sign of life, movement, change, growth and rest. Each season is necessary and good. To me, Fall is about slowing down, resetting, memory making, and the coziness of sweaters, flannels and boots. 🙂
Mati and I did it again. We had a blast shooting our favorite fall looks. Each in our own style and vibe. Enjoy and I hope you it inspires you to fall in love with Fall.
Keep working your summer pieces and layer! Rompers, jumpsuits, lightweight pants continue to work into Fall. Layer with cardigans or jean jackets and booties bring any outfit into Fall.

Denim works all year long. Swap sandals for boots/booties in the Fall. Lightweight sweaters/pants bring in the colors of Fall without the weight. If you are in a warm climate, bring in Fall with color, not bulk.

Layer, layer, layer. Shorts can definitely work in the Fall depending on your climate. Leopard and animal prints from last year are still in and flannel is forever Fall!

Corduroy and overalls! Timeless fall staples. Get some! Side braid and booties optional. 🙂

This location was unexpected, easy and showcases Fall in Hawaii so well! Look up Mati on instagram @matisyntaittphotography. She is running a Fall portrait special. She will capture amazing images of your family!
