Holiday House Tour 2020 Part 1

I’m so excited to share this house tour with you. This year, it was all about less is more and decorating with intention. When it comes to holiday decorating, how many of us have done this… Emptied all of our bins, in hopes of finding a home for every single item that we’ve collected over the years? Can you believe, at one point, we had a 10 ft. Christmas tree?! We had high ceilings in a previous house and the tree was beautiful, but It was huge! This toned-down Christmas look this year, may be my most favorite Christmas look yet! I’m sharing my Holiday House Tour in 2 parts this year, since it got a little heavy in photos for just one post. Let’s get started!

It’s always fun to add some small seasonal touches to a powder bath… definitely a place where most guests will see. All I did this year, was swap out a print and add some mistletoe with the hanging air plant. This update literally took a few minutes.

I went back and forth as to how to style this shelf. We don’t have very many shelves for display so i love playing around with these shelves in our kitchen. It’s the perfect place to add seasonal updates. I finally decided on some twinkling fairy lights and displaying some our previous Christmas cards. I love giving and receiving Christmas cards. Its one of my favorite parts of the season for sure! Writing our Christmas letter is honestly cathartic for me and serves as a great way for me to reflect on each year. Getting snail mail is still the best!

This is another favorite I have in our kitchen. We just put these shelve in earlier this year. We went almost a year with nothing in this corner. The shelves are Just stained pine boards from Home Depot and Iron brackets from Etsy. That snowman made the cut this year because it’s still one of my favorite pieces. It’s actually a small family of 3, but I only put out the big guy this year. I gave myself permission to do that. 🙂

Scroll from ZoandJordan

I waited years to get this scroll. It took me some time to figure out what I wanted on them. I finally decided on a favorite part of a worship song that has such strong meaning for us. Decorating and homemaking is a process… there is such satisfaction in waiting and getting it just right. I love how this scroll has stayed consistent while we are able to drape it with lights or felt ball garland, depending on the season. Bottle brush trees…. inexpensive, collected from Target and Joanns.

Hope you leave with some ideas and inspiration! More to come in part 2 soon! 🙂
