Falling into Fall, Beautifully and Naturally

This year, I’m really feeling drawn to decorating “faux real”.  Get it?  HA!  Decorating with items that bring on the real vibes and colors of fall.  Shoot for real, but faux can be used too.  For fall, we want cozy, warm, glowy and soft.  I want to “feel” fall, not just have a lot of fall stuff.  Decorating this way sets the stage for your home all the way through Christmas.

The benefit and freedom of decorating this way is that we buy less, store less and enjoy more!  And we get to experience fall in a real way.

I love how this board turned out! It is all everyday items from Target that can bring all the fall vibes to your home in a natural and calming way. Definitely add your own personal and whit and whimsy to your home. But it is so lovely when our homes transition into each season quietly and gracefully.

Hearth and Hand Plate – dark accents. Plates and bowls can be used for eating, but also can be used as trays and corral small objects.

Tassel – add warmth. Hang one on your lamp or cabinet

Smoked Glass Vase – beautiful as is or add 1 fall stem.

Blue/Gray Vase – love the color of this one! This one call transition all year!

Black Vases – black grounds our home for fall and winter. Use as many or little as you want.

Kitchen Towels – These are my favorite kitchen towels! Always in stock! 5 pack. A great deal!

Studio McGee Pillow covers – always look for pillows that have removable covers! I never buy anything smaller than 20″, I prefer 24″. These come in an oversized square 24″!

Woven basket – always a use for these! The colors and texture on this one is amazing! It’s a steal!

Woven tray – perfect for an entry way. Fill will pinecones, shells, holiday photos, etc..

Wreath – love the mix of botanicals with metal

Lantern – the copper on this is gorgeous! Can be used indoor or outdoor. I would group in a pair with battery operated candles for a soft glow in any corner.

Here a few more tips for decorating for a “real”fall:

  1. Go dark.  It’s a great time to add substantial pieces that will ground your space.  Think solid pieces of black, copper, gold or browns
  2. Go natural.  Look for pieces in their natural state.  Natural wood, iron, brass, leaves, branches, straw, woven baskets.
  3. Go soft.  Fuzzy blankets and pillows.

Most importantly, have fun changing your home with the season.  Go crazy if Halloween decor truly makes you happy.  Bring on the pumpkins, skeletons, and bats!  Just love them enough to have them out for 1 month and store them for 11.  🙂  Either way, do you. FALL in love with your home in every season.

I saw a quick blip of Bissell spot clean thing on FB story. How do I learn more about how you use that in your home?
